• About Coda Tech
Coda Tech is a US-based technology and automation agency that helps small businesses — including law firms, medical practices, and contractors — implement and connect the software systems they need to grow. We specialize in CRM implementation, workflow automation, AI tools, and custom integrations.
We are a small, fast-moving team that works remotely across the US and Mexico. We value clear communication, ownership, and people who take pride in delivering clean, well-documented work.
• About the Role*
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join us as a part-time contractor. Your primary focus will be implementing and integrating software systems for our legal industry clients, where our Founder serves as Fractional CTO.
You will own the technical build end-to-end — from CRM configuration and third-party integrations to document automation and workflow setup. The Founder defines strategy; you execute it. We need someone who can work independently from a brief, surface blockers early, and deliver production-ready builds without heavy supervision.
• We have active client engagements with go-live timelines within 30 days, so we are looking for someone who can start quickly and hit the ground running.
• What You’ll DoCRM setup & configuration
• Set up and configure Lawmatics CRM (pipelines, intake forms, contact types, matter stages)
• Configure Clio for matter management, billing, and document organization
• Connect intake tools like Intaker and CallRail to the CRM with proper lead routing
• Build custom fields, tags, and pipeline stages aligned to each client’s workflow
• Integrations & automation
• Build integrations between Lawmatics, Clio, Intaker, CallRail, and other tools using Zapier or Make
• Configure REST API connections and webhooks where native integrations are unavailable
• Build lead follow-up, pipeline movement, and notification automations
• Test every integration end-to-end before delivery
• Document workflows
• Set up document templates and auto-population workflows (intake → retainer → matter docs)
• Configure e-signature flows and document routing
• Build automation sequences triggered by pipeline stage changes
• Documentation & handoff
• Document every build — integration maps, automation logic, configuration notes — in Notion
• Record Loom walkthroughs for complex builds
• Complete QA checklists before flagging work as ready for review
• What We’re Looking For:
• 3–5 years of experience implementing and integrating SaaS platforms
• Hands-on experience implementing at least one CRM platform (Lawmatics, HubSpot, Go High Level, Salesforce, or similar)
• Experience with Clio or similar legal matter management platforms
• Proficiency with Zapier and/or Make for multi-step automation workflows
• Comfortable configuring REST APIs and webhooks
• Strong English communication skills — written and verbal
• Excellent documentation habits — you write down what you build as you build it
• Able to work independently from a technical brief with minimal supervision
• Nice to have
• Familiarity with Lawmatics, Clio, Intaker, or other legal tech platforms
• Familiarity with N8N or Zapier
• Prior experience working with law firms or in legal tech
• Comfortable working async with a US-based team
• Tools You’ll Work With
